Adolescent Roundtable

In November 2003 the Australian Institute of Criminology convened a meeting, an 'Adolescent Roundtable', in Melbourne. It was for program providers for adolescents who have sexually abused others. From the outset there was considerable interest and subsequently what has become known as the Adolescent Roundtable has continued annually.

The Adolescent Roundtable was endorsed by ANZATSA in October 2004 as a sub-group of this organisation. ANZATSA is committed to supporting the Adolescent Roundtable to maintain connections between program service providers and promote the multiple aims this group have agreed upon. Matters such as sharing experiences, research and facing challenges of working with adolescents who have sexually abused.

The annual meetings are for managers of programs for this client group across Australia and New Zealand. The meetings have been hosted by organisations located on the east coast of Australia to minimise cost and travel time for participants. An exception was 2008 which was convened by a NSW service in Tasmania and venue provided by Centacare, Hobart. This was a response to a specific request.

ANZATSA has committed to provide space on this website for Adolescent Roundtable members to post and access material relevant for this group. This will be developed in the near future.
