SAANZ is the Journal of the Australan and New Zealand Association for the Treatment of Sexual abuse.
SAANZ is concerned with understanding the psychological and social factors that impact on sexual offending and sexual abuse, and the victims of sexual offending.
Topics considered appropriate for the journal, but not necessarily limited to these include risk assessment and profiling of offenders and offences, treatment and custody issues, pure and applied research into features associated with sexual offending and sexual abuse, and impact of offending and abuse on victim/survivors and treatment for such persons.
The Journal welcomes contributions from across the disciplines. The journal seeks to develop a primary focus on the application of research and practice in the sex-offending area, and hence our focus is on empirical investigation, and the application of theory. Theoretical papers of relevance to understanding sexual offending, sexual abuse, assessment or management of sexual abusers will be accepted.
The journal is a new journal and indexing has not yet occurred. However, we shall be seeking indexing of the journal in Current contents, Sociology abstracts, Psychological abstracts, and Social Sciences Citation Index. The journal is a peer reviewed journal. All submissions are reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. All reviews are anonymous.
The first issue of SAANZ was published in July, 2008. Click HERE to gain access to the Table of Contents and Abstracts of Articles.
