Presented by: ANZATSA New Zealand
This workshop will show assessment strategies using the NEATS, which is a child and family
assessment that covers neurobiology, executive function, attachment, trauma, and self-regulation.
These are areas of child development that researchers and practitioners have identified as
fundamental. This assessment will be sex specific, using richly described typologies. In addition,
the NEATS assessment is also developmental and ecological. Therefore, the workshop will show
how to use the NEATS to assess family history influences on children and their parents as well as to
assess the various ecologies in which children and families live their lives while also assessing the
sexual behaviors themselves.
