Understanding Psychopathy and its Assessment Training using the Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R: 2nd Edition)

The training focuses on the understanding of psychopathy, along with its assessment and scoring, using the Hare Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R, 2nd Edition). Training will comprise case material and the scoring of clinical video/s. The training aims to provide a broad outline of the assessment, management and understanding of psychopathy focusing on the following:

  • Conceptualisations and theories of psychopathy;
  • Distinguishing psychopathy from personality disorder;
  • Linking psychopathy to risk;
  • Maximising therapeutic engagement;
  • Background to the development of the PCL-R;
  • Structure and content of the PCL-R;
  • Observing and scoring clinical interviews for the PCL-R;
  • Effective use of the PCL-R: Ethical considerations.

When: 23rd and 24th November 2016
Venue: The workshop will take place at Cliftons, Level 13, 60
Margaret Street, Sydney, NSW, Australia, 2000

The workshop will start at 9.15am on both days and will aim to finish no later than 4.45pm.

Cost: $650 per delegate. The cost includes provision of lunch, handouts and other relevant material.

Crime Solutions International is offering a $125 discount per place to ANZATSA members, making the two day training event just $525. Members will need to include their membership number on their booking form to allows them to apply the discounted rate.
